Our little red farmhouse is located near Cape Charles, approximately one mile north of The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
Occasionally driving-direction apps get confused with our location so here's turn by turn directions with map and visual aid.
1. follow these google map directions to Pearl Market, then proceed to step two below…
2. From Pearl Market (Highway 13) head EAST on Latimer Siding Road for 1,000 feet…
3. at the end of Latimer Siding Road, take a RIGHT on Seaside Road…
4. travel 1/3 mile south and take a LEFT on Bulls Drive (gravel road). TIP: at the Bulls Drive intersection look for the MAGOTHY BAY NATURAL AREA PRESERVE sign.
5. travel another 1/3 mile down Bulls Drive, then look for these two houses…
6. just after passing the two houses take an immediate LEFT on our unnamed gravel driveway…
7. proceed 1,200 feet down that gravel driveway and you’ve arrived!
7. once you’ve arrived, look for the August smart keypad to the right of the French doors that lead to the dining room. Your personal entry code should have been provided for you before your arrival. If you’re unable to locate your code call/text Dave at 443-621-6730
It can take a second or two to open, and occasionally takes a couple of tries (type slowly for a better success rate). When you exit you can hit the bottom logo button on the keypad to lock the door.
We’ve also granted you access to the August Smart-lock app which gives smartphone door-unlock access to the house as well (this is our preferred method of gaining entry and we highly recommend).

in November 2023 we installed a brand new HOME ARCADE. You'll find old school video game favorites such as Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Fast and the Furious racing, Asteroids, Centipede, Dig Dug, Galaxian, Star Wars Pinball, NBA Jam, Street Fighter 2, Attack From Mars Pinball, and LOTS more.
we've provided beach towels and beach chairs along with a small cooler. The chairs and cooler are in the rear of house in the white fenced area. The beach towels are on the shelf in the dining room. Cape Charles has a fantastic public beach area with plenty of room to spread out.
most every room has a smart speaker and you can play music just by saying "hey google, play (insert the name of your favorite artist our group or song)". You can also control most all lighting in the house by saying things like “hey google, turn bedroom one lights off”, or “hey google, dim the living room lights to 20%”
to operate the living room's Bluetooth record player turn on the soundbar speaker located just under the living room TV, then cycle its input to Bluetooth. The light on the record player should turn blue letting you know it's connected and ready to spin tunes from our eclectic vinyl library.
the third floor Peloton is fully registered and is ready to use. If you're not a Peloton subscriber but are Peloton-curious feel free to create a profile and give it a try. There are Velcro shoe holsters on the pedals that allow riders to use regular tennis shoes.
a filtered water dispenser is located just inside the fridge on the inner left wall, and is much better for coffee, tea, etc...
if you're the Weber charcoal grilling type we have lots of grill tools in the cabinet just below the microwave. A charcoal chimney starter is located outside in the brown bench under the pergola (just lift the lid on the seat bench). Charcoal can be grabbed just minutes up the road at the local Food Lion.
if you're driving an Electric Vehicle please feel free to use our level 2 charger (FREE). It should give you a full EV fill-up overnight. The 50amp outlet is on the side of the house facing the driveway. The portable level two EV charger is located on the bottom shelf of the dining room cabinet, just as you enter. It's a j1772 charger and within the bag is also a Tesla adaptor
and lastly, NOTE the outside pergola lights can only be controlled via voice or via one of our google hub monitors located throughout the home. To turn off for the night you can just say "hey google, turn pergola lights off"
